i realized that i've a preconcepted mindset of how heaven would be

and when i think about other kinds of realities, like medieval era, villages or the lush world of pandora, i'm absorbed into it.

then i realized these worlds were competing with my heaven.

and suddenly, heaven didn't seem much fun to be in for eternity.

avatar caused depression to some. thats a fact. because it showed a world, a paradise. it showed people, cultures, lifestyles. and because there were humans in it, it feels so near, yet the thought of it being all fake, like a dream, is depressing.

truth is many times we want to go somewhere better

and media does its magic to show something better. may it be games, movies, etc.

we are absorbed into worlds as we consume the media. it promises an adventure, a world to explore, magic, technology. (see how "back to reality" hits people after finishing?)we like it because it offers an alternate reality.

and suddenly, the notion of heaven feels so old compared to these "modern" worlds. it loses its appeal.

and theres the danger in it.

and i have to remind myself,

no eyes has seen, no ears has heard, no mind can conceive what the Lord has prepared for those who trust in Him.  :)

i remember an old song:

Heaven is a wonderful place

filled with glory and grace

I want to see my Saviour's face

Heaven is a wonderful place

then i remember, it cares not what heaven will be. (though it helps to know that heaven surpasses our wildest imaginations)

what matters is where my Saviour is :)
