was stuck in camp on hari raya!!
it wasn't a bad thing actually
forced myself to rest, read up and reflect.
for once, i've "all the time in the world".

God revealed some stuff about myself
and its something i've overlooked for a long time
and i really thank God for it!!
though it irked me,
quite excited for growth :)

took time and re-read heart of the artist again
and its really refreshing and practical!
can't wait to share it with my crew
service support crew are still every bit an artist
a technical craft

from the person designing the lyrics
finding the appropriate pictures and framing of texts
to the camera person being there to capture the moments
framing up each shots to make it visually pleasing
to the visual mixer who directs and decides the shots to take
to the lightings personel who sets the atmosphere according to the songs
to the sound crew doing the live mix
being alert as to which instruments to focus on during free worship
bringing out the best in every musician

who says technicality isn't arty.

when God gave noah the blueprints for the ark
He commanded him to build it to the specifications:
the ark is to be this by this wide and this by this tall
made of cypress wood
etc
feels very technical right
but the outcome, the ark, was a fine piece of art!
a new start through faith and obedience

God is an artist!
like an architect He designed everything intricately
woven together
we are, afterall, fearfully and wonderfully made.

some tips to avoid burn out

"Ditch things that aren’t important but restore your dream fully. Yeah streamline some things you are doing, ditch some that is not in line with what you are meant to do, change your thinking pattern. Let go and whatever you do, its so that you can restore your dream fully.

If your dream cannot be restore fully. Look towards God for refinement of that dream. Don’t proceed until you have restored your dream fully. If you never had a dream. You are doing too many irrelevant things. It’s not going to work, start dreaming!"

enjoyed friday's meetup and class~!
learnt a fair bit
its very easy to say that we should have the "feeling"
when creating something
but feelings, are just that, feelings.
it should be grounded in design principals :)
lookin forward to the next one
